Who Is Brad Pitt?
Actor and producer Brad Pitt was born on December 18, 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He made his big-screen debut in the 1989 horror film Cutting Class and his role in 1994's Legends of the Fall helped secured his place as a Hollywood staple. A two-time winner of People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" title, Pitt also proved willing to take on grittier roles for features like Seven(1995) and Fight Club (1999). He began earning more serious award consideration for performances in Babel(2006), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), Inglourious Basterds (2009) and Moneyball (2011), winning his first Oscar in the best picture category as a producer for 12 Years a Slave (2013). Along with later works like The Big Short (2015) and Allied (2016), Pitt is known for his high-profile relationships with actresses Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie.
Early Life
Actor Brad Pitt was born William Bradley Pitt on December 18, 1963, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, the eldest of three children in a devoutly Southern Baptist family, and grew up in Springfield, Missouri. His father, Bill Pitt, owned a trucking company, and his mother, Jane Pitt, was a family counselor. Pitt originally aspired to be an advertising art director, studying journalism at the University of Missouri.
However, the young college student had other, quiet aspirations that were the product of a childhood love of movies. His dreams finally seemed tangible his last semester at university when he realized, "I can leave." On a whim, Pitt dropped out of college, packed up his Datsun and headed west to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles, just two credits shy of a college degree.
Pitt told his parents he intended to enroll in the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, but instead spent the next several months driving a limousine—chauffeuring strippers from one bachelor party to the next, delivering refrigerators and trying to break into the L.A. acting scene. He joined an acting class and, shortly after, accompanied a classmate as her scene partner on an audition with an agent. In a twist of fate, the agent signed Pitt instead of his classmate. After weathering only seven months in Los Angeles, Pitt had secured an agent and regular acting work.
Career
- Pitt made his acting debut in 1987, with minor roles in movies like ‘Less Than Zero’, ‘No Way Out’, and ‘No Man's Land’. He also appeared for two episodes in the sitcom 'Another World', broadcast by 'NBC' television network.
- In 1988, he had a cameo role in the movie, '21 Jump Street', after which he was signed on as the main actor for the movie 'The Dark Side of the Sun'. However, the movie, a collaboration of U.S. and Yugoslavian producers, could not be completed in the stipulated time, owing to the 'Croatian War of Independence'
- For the next few years, he enacted in small-time roles in movies like 'Cutting Class', 'Happy Together', as well TV series 'Freddy's Nightmares', and 'Growing Pains'. 19HELICOPTER
According to Business Insider, his former wife, Angelina Jolie, reportedly purchased a $1.6 million helicopter, as well as flying lessons, as a gift for the actor when they were still together. It wasn't a birthday gift, nor any special occasion, just another day in the life of Brangelina.
They had a helicopter pad installed in the grounds of their south of France home, Chateau Miraval, so they were able to fly to and from Cannes. Hopefully, the chopper was an eight-seater so it could fit the entire family.
18TESLA MODEL S
Pitt has one black and one grey Tesla Model S, one would think the Model X would be better suited for someone who has six kids? Roughly a year ago, Brad caused a three-car accident while driving his grey Model S, perhaps the autopilot wasn't paying attention?
Whatever the reason behind that little accident was, we're sure those two other guys involved had one heck of a story to tell when they got home to their families. Everyone involved seemed fine, and Brad's Tesla didn't seem to have any damage at all, at least nothing that couldn't be polished out.
17CAMARO SS
Brad Pitt appears to be a Chevy guy, at least we have yet to see him pictured driving a car with a blue oval badge in the front. The Camaro might not be the greatest family car, in fact, it's mostly driven by guys whose kids just moved out... could it be that even Hollywood celebs get the mid-life crisis blues?
One thing is for sure, with a 400 horsepower LS3 V8 under the hood, there should be more than enough power for driving in the LA traffic. Just make sure to keep the roof up to avoid sunburns and paparazzi.
16JEEP CHEROKEE
As the observant reader might have seen, Brad Pitt looks a bit younger in this picture than he is now... that's because this pic is from 1996. There are rumors going around the internet that he actually kept this car, but we honestly don't know for sure.
We just thought it was a cool pic, and it shows that he was into practical SUVs long before he became a family man. Looking through his entire history of cars, there are actually several SUVs, so clearly he likes driving them when he's not riding one of his bikes.
15CHEVY TAHOE
A black Chevy Tahoe, it would either belong to some undercover agents or a superstar who wants to stay anonymous while driving on the roads of LA, and in this case, it's the latter one.
A picture of Brad taking his Tahoe to a McDonald's drive-thru went viral a few years back, and of course, there was no lack of people speculating that he was going broke. That's what happens when you're rich and famous and drive an everyday SUV - if he was in a G-Wagen or Range Rover no one would make statements like that.
14BMW HYDROGEN 7
Back before he got a Tesla, the BMW Hydrogen 7 was probably the most luxurious eco-car Brad could find - BMW made a limited number of Hydrogen 7s for use by celebrities and higher-up officials. At least he thought it was fancy enough to bring to the premiere of the Ocean's 13 movie.
Unlike many hydrogen-powered cars, the H7 does not use fuel cells and electric motors but instead burns hydrogen in a typical internal combustion fashion. The cruising range in hydrogen mode is more than 125 miles, with another 300 miles in gasoline mode. If there was no gasoline storage, the hydrogen mode range could be significantly greater.
13A BUNCH OF DUCATIS
Brad has so many Ducatis in his collection that we could probably fill an entire list with them. He owns - or has owned - several Ducati Monsters, ranging from a 696 to an S4R. The Monster is a great streetfighter bike capable of doing it all, whether commuting, a day in the mountains, or some track day action.
The most impressive Ducati in his collection is by far the Desmosedici, which is pretty much a street-legal version of Ducati's MotoGP bike. Only a handful of collectors managed to get their hands on one of these, and Pitt was one of them.
12HUSQVARNA NUDA 900R
The Husqvarna Nuda 900 R captured the attention of the revered Hollywood actor and film producer. We're sure it didn't bother him that he was one of the lucky few who had a chance to ride it before it went on sale to the public.
The bike was universally acclaimed by motoring journalists when it was released. It features a BMW-developed, Husqvarna-tuned 900cc engine in an exposed trellis frame, the sporty Nuda is equipped with top-grade, race-bred components and proudly displays Husqvarna’s distinctive red and white competition colors.
11MV AGUSTA BRUTALE
The MV Agusta Brutale is a gorgeous Italian naked bike. While it looks sleek and powerful, it comes with several different engines, ranging from mild to wild. It should go without saying that the bike found in Pitt's garage is of the wilder variety.
Production of the MV Agusta Brutale started in 2001, and over the years there have been several limited edition versions. Brad Pitt isn't the only celebrity who enjoys the Italian bike brand, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton is known to be a huge fan and has even gotten a limited edition Brutale named after himself.
10JESSE ROOKE KTM
Brad Pitt owns a couple of bikes built by Jesse Rooke, one of the more performance centered bikes would be this creation known as "Jaden" - a KTM Super Duke based cafe racer with single-sided swingarm, featuring Performance Machine wheels.
The bike has an aggressive stance, and unlike many of Rooke's other creations, this one seems to be built to do some canyon carving. With that exhaust, it's fairly certain that the police will hear the bike coming from a mile away though. But we're sure they'd let the rider off with a warning and perhaps a couple of selfies when they see who it is.
9GASOLINE ALLEY/INDIAN LARRY - WHEN PUSH COMES TO SHOVE
As any wealthy motorcycle enthusiast, Brad Pitt owns an Indian Larry bike. While the bike is quite incredible, it has nothing on Indian Larry himself. Larry, who passed away in 2004 while performing a motorcycle stunt during filming of the Discovery Channel show "The Great Biker Build Off", was a reformed bank robber turned charismatic philosopher, a master welder, and mechanic.
Indian Larry bikes are made from scratch. From the handlebars to the kicker pedals, they are soldered, sculpted and painted in the Brooklyn shop, including the iconic Indian Larry down tube - steel heated to 900 degrees then twisted by hand.
8ZERO ENGINEERING TYPE9
Pitt got himself a Type 9 by Zero Engineering, the world famous garage that was originally founded by Shinya Kimura. Perhaps the most interesting feature on this bike is the multi-link rear suspension - it actually uses a four-link mono-shock assembly, but most would think this bike was a hardtail when looking at it.
The team at Zero Engineering have also reworked the springer front end, with the focus being on making it smooth and controllable – springer forks often aren’t associated with those two words. The Zero bikes are capable of gathering a crowd wherever they’re parked, and popularity exploded after Brad Pitt was seen riding one.
7ROOKE/WCC 140 CFL
The Rooke/WCC bikes are kind of a "collaboration" between Jesse James and Jesse Rooke. It's an interesting build, seeing as it has a hardtail rear end, but uses a Marzocchi upside-down sportbike fork on the front. Wheels, along with some other parts, are from Performance Machine - 21"x3.5 back and 23"x3.5 front.
It was based on the first generation WCC CFL frame, the "CFL1", but with additional tubing for rigidity. The design was basically raw and rugged, and it's one of those bikes that Pitt has been spotted on a lot of times around LA - clearly, it must be one of his favorites.
6ECOSSE TITANIUM SERIES XX
In 2013 Brad bought a custom Ecosse Titanium Series XX bike, a completely unique motorcycle that's also said to be the most expensive motorcycle in the world at the time he bought it - it cost an estimated $300,000!
The insanely expensive bike hasn't been spending its life as a garage queen though, Pitt has been spotted riding around Los Angeles on it several times ever since he bought it. Make sure you check your mirrors and blind spots if you're driving in LA - you really don't want to be the one to blame for an accident when a $300K bike is involved.
5SHINYA KIMURA CUSTOM
Brad Pitt loves Samurai choppers and Rad Cafe Racers. So it just makes sense that he has some bikes from custom builder Shinya Kimura. The only part that's recognizable is the 1974 Ducati engine, everything else is pure foreign craftsmanship.
The oil cooler sits next to the headlight giving the bike an asymmetric look, which there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for; asymmetry, or Hacho, is one of the distinctive factors found in Japan-made art. It's probably hard to tell whether people are looking at the bike or at Brad when he's out riding this piece of motorcycle art.
4SPITFIRE
Word has it that Brad Pitt actually is an accomplished pilot and in addition to having mastered the more common everyday private aircraft, he bought himself a WWII-era Supermarine Spitfire for a cool $3.3 million.
Apparently, his fascination with vintage planes was inspired by Fury, the WWII action film he shot in the UK in 2013. According to The Daily Mail, the star undertook certified training at the Boultbee Flight Academy in Oxford, where he learned how to operate the Spitfire’s unique controls. As far as WWII fighter planes go, the Spitfire is definitely one of the coolest ones.
3AUDI Q7
The Hollywood A-lister bought an Audi Q7 - an expensive SUV with lots of room for his rather large family. Subtlety is the word that probably describes the Q7 the best.
Sharing its platform with sporty SUVs like the Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg, the Audi surely offers a sporty feel for those times the kids aren't in the car. It's available with a range of different engines, and while we don't know which one Pitt went for, we like to think it is one of the more potent ones.
2LEXUS LS 460 F SPORT
Taking every discrete Executive’s favorite sleeper-sedan and throwing some LFA-inspired sports magic at it, the LS 460 F Sport may not cause sleepless nights over at Mercedes-Benz’s AMG division or BMW’s M Sports labs, but having a Hollywood A-lister like Brad Pitt driving their car surely must've helped sales just a little bit?!
It's easy to understand why he chose this model though, it's filled with fancy tech and equipment from top to bottom and front to back. The styling might not be to everyone's taste, but when you're a superstar there's no need to care what others think anyway.
1ASTON MARTIN VANQUISH CARBON EDITION
What do you buy as a gift for one of the biggest actors in the world? Well, back in 2015 Angelina Jolie bought her husband a $300,000 Aston Martin Vanquish - Carbon Edition as a thank you for supporting her through a recent surgery and other scares.
Carbon Edition Vanquish models are distinguished by added carbon fiber pieces like side strakes, darkened windows and headlight trim, and bespoke alloy wheels. The interior is trimmed with Alcantara, carbon fiber, and leather. Customers also get to choose between red, yellow, grey, or black brake calipers - other than that the car is mechanically identical to the standard Vanquish.
